Prairie View A&M University is located 40 miles northwest of Houston in Prairie View, a town of 3,715 people. PVAMU is known for its International Diary Goat Research Center. The University maintains memoranda of understanding with the National Center for Rural Technology Development of China, the Inner Mongolia College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, the Beijing Agricultural University and the National Autonoma University of Mexico School of Veterinary Medicine. Study abroad programs to Mexico and Spain and curriculum internationalization in business are significant recent initiatives.
