TIEC Home About TIEC TIEC Governance TIEC Board Provides Outstanding Leadership Dr. Flavius Killebrew President, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Dr. Flavius Killebrew, Chair Dr. Flavius C. Killebrew is President of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, which enrolls more than 9,100 students as part of The Texas A&M University System. The university has earned multiple awards recognizing its success in providing access to higher education for all. Nationally, it is recognized for its groundbreaking first-year learning program. Dr. Killebrew earned undergraduate and master's degrees in biology from West Texas A&M University and a doctorate in zoology from the University of Arkansas. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas International Education Consortium for 2008-2009, having served on the TIEC Board and its Executive Committee since 2005. Dr. Tim Hudson President, University of Houston-Victoria Dr. Tim Hudson, Vice Chair Dr. Tim Hudson is President of the University of Houston-Victoria, which serves more than 2,300 upper level undergradu-ates and graduate students in more than 30 programs in its Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education. At UHV, he has added international partnerships in China, Spain, Mexico and other countries to provide students and faculty with study abroad opportunities and to bring people from other countries to the campus. Dr. Hudson received his Ph.D. in geography from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. He was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas International Education Consortium for 2008-2009, having served on the TIEC Board and its Executive Committee since 2005. Dr. Fernando C. Gomez Vice Chancellor and General Counsel, Texas State University System Fernando C. Gomez, Secretary of the Board Fernando C. Gomez for 18 years has been General Counsel for the Texas State University System, the oldest multi-campus system in Texas serving more than 64,000 students each year through its eight component institutions. He received his B.A. in sociology and English from the University of New Mexico and his J.D. (law) and Ph.D. in American culture from the University of Michigan. In addition to his legal practice, he teaches for the Sam Houston State University-International Law Enforcement Academy, a U.S. State Department-funded program in Roswell, New Mexico.
