Texas University Based and Internationally
Focused
For over 25 years, the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) has been calling
upon the expertise and knowledge of more than 25,000 faculty
and administrators from 32 Texas universities in providing
services to the global educational community.
Affiliated universities include not only programs that
are world-famous for their academics and scholarship, but
numerous specialized research centers and institutes, extension
and technical training programs, and public policy and service
units. Each of these resources lends its support and expertise
through active participation in TIEC projects.
Located in Austin,
Texas, TIEC occupies a multi-purpose headquarters facility
including both its institutional
services programs and its study
and training programs. TIEC headquarters is home to
offices and classrooms of The Texas Intensive English Program
(TIEP), a division of TIEC that provides
English as a second language instruction to international
students from around the globe.
TIEC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of the
presidents of its 32 participating
universities. These universities include members of
the Association of American Universities, the National Association
of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, and the American
Association of State Colleges and Universities. All are
fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools.
