OVERVIEW The Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of the presidents of TIEC's 32 affiliated universities. TIEC's affiliated universities include members of the Association of American Universities, the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. All are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
TIEC calls upon the expertise and knowledge of more than 25,000 faculty and administrators from its universities in carrying out large, complex projects. University officials locate and recommend the best qualified faculty and staff for particular programs. Affiliated universities include numerous specialized research centers and institutes, extension and technical training programs, and public policy and service units that lend their support and expertise through active participation in TIEC projects when called upon to do so. Texas public universities are internationally renowned in their fields. A combined total of $2.04 billion dollars was spent on research and development activities in Fiscal Year 2002. Funds for such activities were received from federal, state, private, and institutional sources. Executive Officers Dr. Nick L. Poulton, President nick.poulton@tiec.org
