STUDENT PROGRAM
The TIEC Sponsored Student Program
has assisted international students in the United States since the
1950’s. Numerous foreign governments, educational institutions,
corporations and other organizations have utilized the services of this
program to enhance the success of their students during their studies in
intensive English and in academic degree programs in American colleges and
universities.
 The Sponsored Student Program enables
students to maximize their academic opportunity and to complete their
academic objectives in the shortest time, thereby reducing the overall
cost to sponsors. The services provided by the Program are tailored to
complement, rather than duplicate, the services of sponsoring agencies.
TIEC maintains a staff of professionals
to administer the Sponsored Student Program. TIEC has worked successfully
with more than 50 sponsors in over 20 countries. More than 2,500 students
who have participated in the TIEC Sponsored Student Program have completed
their academic programs and returned to their home country.
The TIEC Sponsored Student Program offers
the following services:
- Administrative Services
. Immigration
assistance including issuance of immigration documents; arrival and
settling in support including airport pick-up, orientation to the U.S.
and local community, and assistance with housing and local banking;
ongoing communication with sponsor via fax, telephone, mail, courier,
and electronic mail; toll-free telephone line to students and sponsors
accessible within the continental U.S.; health insurance coverage as
required; and financial services including accounts receivable
privileges and consolidated invoicing to sponsor; and other services
requested by the sponsor.
- Pre-University Services
. Advising
upon arrival to U.S.; testing of English language and communication
skills; placement in English language courses and/or test preparation
courses; facilitation of university selection and admission.
- University Enrollment Services
. Provision
of TIEC student advisor working in conjunction with the campus advisor;
campus visits to monitor student progress; progress reports to sponsor
including course schedules and grades.
