I have had a lot of new experiences in Austin. First of all, this is my first time to live with an American family and speak English all the time. Before I came to TIEP, I hadn't studied at an English school. Second, I experienced holidays of the United States, for example, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Third, I attended the South by Southwest Music and Film Festival in Austin. In my memory Austin is a wonderful place. I am glad to come here and happy to meet all of my friends in TIEP.

Four Decorative Dots Parents

We offer your child the opportunity to develop his English language skills while living in a safe and secure environment. Your child will meet people from all over the world as he studies in our English classes and participates in the cultural and social events of our school. He will make new friends, explore new ideas, and participate in a wide range of instructional activities designed to develop his English language abilities in preparation for study at a university in the U.S., and/or for use in social and professional situations.

As a parent, we understand your concerns for your child's education and safety.  We want to assure you that we make every effort to provide an outstanding educational experience, and we take every precaution possible to protect and guide your child as he continues his education with us.

Our top priorities for your child are:
1)  Quality of Education

2)  Safety and Security

3)  Support and Guidance

The program

Since 1965, more than 29,000 students from 123 countries have studied at TIEP.  Students from an average of 25 countries study at TIEP each semester.

TIEP is one of the most highly credentialed English programs in Texas and the U.S.  TIEP is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), and is a member in good standing of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) and University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP).

Our faculty members are facilitators for learning. They provide students with the resources and opportunities to learn and practice English; they diagnose students' linguistic strengths and weaknesses; and they serve as mentors for students.

Not only do our teachers hold Master's Degrees and Ph.Ds, but they are consistently applauded by the students, and our surveys show that the experience with the teachers is one of the most beneficial aspects of our program.

What makes us unique?

At TIEP, we believe that there are many components in effectively teaching the English language.  We provide many opportunities for cultural exchange and conversation, while using the most modern and effective teaching methods, materials, and equipment.  Our computer lab was upgraded recently, we provide Conversation clubs with native-English speakers, and have many social and cultural activities that allow for a comprehensive understanding of the culture, area, and language.

At TIEP, we gladly provide the following additional resources for our students:

We also provide outstanding student services and activities:
