Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
For experienced, nonnative English-language instructors. Programs can be designed to include the following goals:

Upgrade teachers' English language teaching skills, including the use of a communicative, active, student-centered approach in their classrooms that will enable their students to achieve greater competency in English.

Improve teachers' English language proficiency through intensive content-based instruction and the development and enhancement of successful language learning strategies. The program prepares teachers to use English as the primary language of classroom instruction so that their students will become proficient in all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

Enhance the knowledge and expertise of teachers in best practices in the instruction of English as a Second Language through coursework at TIEP and practical classroom experience in public schools in Texas.

Enhance teachers' understanding of the U.S. educational system and culture as it relates to improving teaching skills.
- Provide opportunities for teachers to interact with English speakers from diverse backgrounds, not only to improve their English proficiency and teaching but also to foster awareness and understanding of other cultures and traditions.
Language and Culture Programs
For high school and university students who want to improve their English skills and knowledge of American culture. Programs are usually 3-4 weeks and typically include the following components:

Intensive English instruction to improve students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills

U.S. cultural information relevant to the students' stay in the U.S.

Numerous cultural and social activities

Homestay experience
Custom-Designed Tutorials
TIEP offers customized, one-to-one English training for international students and professionals. Advantages of an individual tutorial at TIEP:- Maximum progress, one student per teacher
- Expert, flexible instruction that constantly adapts to a student's individual level of English proficiency, needs, and interests

Custom-designed to meet a student's specific interests, for example:
- Business English
- Academic English
- General English
- Pronunciation
- Conversation skills
- Public speaking
- Test preparation, including TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, SAT, GRE, GMAT
- Advanced writing and grammar

Flexible schedule
- Available any time of the year
- Minimum of 1.5 hours of instruction per week for at least 15 total hours.
- Maximum of 45 hours of instruction per week.
- Each hour of instruction is 60 minutes long.
- Certificate awarded upon completion of a tutorial
- Instruction available at TIEP or off-site in the Austin area.
- Assistance with accommodations, if needed (with a fee)
