University Admissions Counseling

TIEP provides assistance to students who want to enter a U.S. college or university when they have completed intensive English language studies. Counselors are available to TIEP students to answer questions and give guidance on university selection and the admission process.

Information on university selection and admission is also provided by:

• Admissions Workshops 
  Offered each semester to discuss resources available for identifying appropriate schools, test requirements, deadline dates, applications, and procedures.
• TIEC Study Guide to Texas Universities 
  A unique 77-page on-line publication containing information helpful in choosing a university.

University Conditional Admission

The Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP) has helped many international students to obtain conditional admission to accredited universities in the United States.

Conditional admission provides the student with the following benefits:

• Assured admission to an American university once he or she has met English-language or other specific requirements that the university may set.

• Documentation that the student can use in applying for an F-1 (student) visa.

University Express^SM

TIEP's University Express^SM provides a comprehensive, customized program for students preparing to apply to U.S. universities. Features include individual and small-group tutorials, academic advising, English for academic purposes, preparation for standardized tests, study skills, intercultural communication, orientation to U.S. university culture, and extracurricular events and enrichment activities.
