TIEC provides capabilities and programs that help educators in Texas and around the globe form institutional partnerships, share academic and research resources, and leverage faculty and administrative expertise to benefit all their constituents.
Benefits accrue both at home and abroad, growing from TIEC's abilities to:
- Help its member institutions establish the programs and build the partnerships that are necessary to keep pace with the increasing international competition for students and faculty.
- Provide the world with Texas-based individuals and institutions in the forefront of such in-demand fields as education, information technology, health sciences, and environmental studies.
- Bring back to Texas the enhanced professional experience and institutional recognition that build the effectiveness of the state's universities.
In helping universities expand their international presence, TIEC focuses on three principal capabilities:
Student Mobility - Services for recruiting international students to Texas campuses and helping Texas students study abroad
Capacity Building - From marketing to English language instruction, services to help Texas universities expand their international programs
Global Positioning - Services to build an international presence from home campuses in Texas or at locations abroad
