The University of Texas at El Paso
The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)

The University of Texas at El Paso is located in the city of El Paso,
which is on the border of Mexico. It is the second oldest academic
institution of The University of Texas System. The student population is
15,700 with 1,160 international students attending. The University offers
undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, Education, Engineering,
Liberal Arts, Science and Nursing. Academic fields for masters degree
study include Accounting, Liberal Arts, Business Administration,
Education, Science, Nursing and Allied Health. The Departments of Geology
and Electrical Engineering also offer doctoral degrees. The University
maintains memoranda of agreement with seven universities in Mexico and has
conducted the USIA-sponsored CAMPUS (Central American Program of
University Scholarships) participant training program. The University is
known for its Center for Inter-American and Border Studies and Institute
for Manufacturing and Materials Management. Faculty have been involved in
collaborative research projects in Business Administration, Education,
Civil and Electrical Engineering, History, Language and Linguistics,
Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology, Biology,
Chemistry, Geological Sciences and Journalism in Mexico France, Austria
and Kenya, as well as other countries.
