The University of Texas-Pan American
The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA)

The University of Texas-Pan American is located in Edinburg, Texas, a city
population of 34,000 close to the Mexican border and the Gulf of Mexico.
The student population consists of 12,100 graduate and undergraduate
students. UTPA offers five types of undergraduate degrees leading to one
of eight bachelors degrees. Curricula areas include Business
Administration Education, Arts and Sciences, Criminal Justice, Social
Work, and Health Related Professions, including degrees in Medical
Technology, Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The School of
Business Administration at UTPA sponsors and supports the Center for
Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, which undertakes South
Texas-Mexico border research related to border economic development
issues. The University also maintains a memorandum of agreement with the
Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. Individual faculty members
have been involved in collaborative research projects on the maquiladora
studies, business ethics, and economics.
