The University of Houston-Clear Lake
The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL)
The University of Houston-Clear Lake serves about 7,450 undergraduate and
graduate students from 55 countries, 38 states and 43 Texas counties.
Through the schools of Business and Public Administration, Education,
Human Sciences and Humanities, and Natural and Applied Sciences, the
University offers four undergraduate degrees in 39 fields of study and
three masters degrees in 36 disciplines. These academic programs are
carefully crafted with interdisciplinary study in mind. The University,
located on 487 acres, is midway between downtown Houston and the historic
port of Galveston and adjacent to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, the
hub of space shuttle operations. UHCL has provided consulting services in
developing The Institute of Technological Studies, a privately held
university in Sri Lanka, in conjunction with Alvin Community College.
Articulation agreements with the University of Houston-Clear Lake permit
students who satisfactorily complete bachelors degrees at the Institute to
be accepted into graduate study at UHCL. Faculty from the School of Human
Science and Humanities, School of Natural and Applied Sciences, School of
Education, and School of Business and Public Administration are involved
in international research projects or exchanges in Argentina,
Czechoslovakia, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Taiwan.
