University-Commerce (TAMUC) 
Texas A&M University-Commerce is located in Commerce, Texas, a
city of 8,600 people, just 65 miles northeast of Dallas. The
undergraduate and graduate population of 8,483, including 400
international students, allows the University to give high quality
education and individual instruction to its students. Certifying 400
teachers yearly, TAMUC offers more than 110 fields of study through 28
academic departments from the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Business
& Technology, and Education & Human Services, as well as the School of Graduate Studies
& Research. These lead to undergraduate and graduate degrees in Arts,
Science, Business Administration, Music, and Fine Arts, as well as
undergraduate degrees in Music Education, Criminal Justice, Social Work,
General Studies, and doctoral degrees in Education and Philosophy.
Agricultural Sciences students have "hands-on" learning
education in all disciplines of agriculture as well as teacher
certification in Agricultural Education through the University's
1,800-acre farm. In addition to its activities with The Texas
International Education Consortium, TAMUC also engages in exchanges with
the Senyang Institute of Physical Culture and Liaoning Education College
in Shenyang, China; and the U.S./China Teacher Education Consortium, among
other programs. Individual professors are also active in international
research with colleagues in Europe, Latin America and Asia. TAMUC
currently has 10 international studies programs.
