Join us as Prof. Achraf Al Faraj, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi University, examines how image-guided drug delivery systems are transforming cancer diagnosis and therapy through the integration of nanotechnology, molecular imaging, and targeted therapeutics. It will highlight the development of smart nanoparticles that enable real-time visualization of drug distribution, improved tumor targeting, and reduced systemic toxicity. Drawing on translational research experience, the session will discuss applications in breast and lung cancer and explore opportunities for interdisciplinary and international collaboration in advancing precision oncology.

SESSION SPEAKER:

Prof. Achraf Al Faraj is the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Abu Dhabi University. He brings over two decades of academic, research, and leadership experience across Europe and the Middle East, including appointments at the University of Lyon 1 and University of Paris 7 in France, King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, and the American University of Science and Technology in Lebanon. He previously served as the Founding Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB). Prof. Al Faraj holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Health Sciences from the University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Paris Diderot. His research focuses on biomedical imaging, nanomedicine, and image-guided drug delivery systems for cancer and chronic respiratory diseases. He has secured over USD 2.2 million in research funding, published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, and holds a U.S. patent.
