Preparing healthcare professionals for complex clinical environments remains a central challenge in medical education. While high-fidelity simulation (HFS) has been widely adopted as a tool for improving clinical skills, many programs continue to treat simulation as an isolated educational activity rather than a strategically integrated component of clinical training. As a result, questions remain regarding how simulation should be optimally positioned within curricula to maximize its educational impact. This webinar explores how high-fidelity simulation can be strategically integrated into clinical education to enhance clinical competence, support experiential learning, and strengthen workforce readiness. Drawing on evidence from a longitudinal educational study examining simulation integration during clinical training, the session will discuss how the timing and sequencing of simulation experiences influence learners’ skill development and learning trajectories. Participants will gain practical insights into designing simulation-informed curricula, aligning simulation with clinical rotations, and using simulation as a structured reinforcement mechanism within training programs. The session will also highlight how strategic simulation integration can support scalable, competency-based education models that prepare healthcare professionals for high-stakes clinical decision-making across diverse healthcare systems.

SESSION SPEAKER:

Dr. Eman Elsokary is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Helwan University, Egypt. She is currently a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, specializing in Education Administration, Planning, and Policy. Dr. Elsokary’s work focuses on maternal health, nursing education innovation, and strengthening healthcare workforce capacity through evidence-based training approaches.  She currently serves as a government stakeholder representative with International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), contributing to the development and review of international standards for continuing education and training. Dr. Elsokary is also a member of the Accreditation of Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development Committee at the Egyptian Health Council and contributes to international initiatives focused on higher education quality assurance and workforce development, including collaborations with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the Texas International Education Consortium. Her work aims to bridge the gap between academic preparation and clinical practice while supporting scalable models for improving maternal and newborn healthcare education globally.
