Rubini-Pasupathy

Dr. Rubini Pasupathy — Professor  in the Julia Jones Matthews Department of Public Health at Texas Tech  University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) — Dr. Pasupathy comes with  extensive experience in developing COIL into courses on Health Determinants  and Healthcare Systems  for public health students at TTUHSC and  Silliman University. The objective of this course is to enable students to  critically evaluate the healthcare systems in the Philippines and United  States and how these healthcare systems can be improved. Further, she leads  TTUHSC students on a global health learning experience to Dumaguete,  Philippines, where TTUHSC and Silliman University students have the  opportunity to continue building on the relationships they formed online in  the COIL course.

Michelle-Ensminger

 

Ms. Michelle Ensminger — Senior  Director of the Office of Global Health at TTUHSC — In her role, Ms.  Ensminger provides strategic leadership for international engagement,  develops innovative educational programs to enhance global competence, and  creates opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to critically explore  the social determinants of health in diverse global contexts. Her work  emphasizes preparing future health professionals for thoughtful, ethical  engagement with communities abroad while also ensuring that the critical  thinking and skills they gain strengthen their ability to serve the people of  West Texas.
