Dr. Rubini Pasupathy — Professor in the Julia Jones Matthews Department of Public Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) — Dr. Pasupathy comes with extensive experience in developing COIL into courses on Health Determinants and Healthcare Systems for public health students at TTUHSC and Silliman University. The objective of this course is to enable students to critically evaluate the healthcare systems in the Philippines and United States and how these healthcare systems can be improved. Further, she leads TTUHSC students on a global health learning experience to Dumaguete, Philippines, where TTUHSC and Silliman University students have the opportunity to continue building on the relationships they formed online in the COIL course.

Ms. Michelle Ensminger — Senior Director of the Office of Global Health at TTUHSC — In her role, Ms. Ensminger provides strategic leadership for international engagement, develops innovative educational programs to enhance global competence, and creates opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to critically explore the social determinants of health in diverse global contexts. Her work emphasizes preparing future health professionals for thoughtful, ethical engagement with communities abroad while also ensuring that the critical thinking and skills they gain strengthen their ability to serve the people of West Texas.
